Ms. Von Iderstine teaches 1st grade. This is her eighth year at Hayt School. She is currently in graduate school to receive her Reading Specialist master's degree. At Hayt School, she serves on the Bilingual Team, is a member of the Balanced Literacy Committee, and is a co-chair of the PBIS team. She also assists the dancers of Act Out, the performance group among the middle school grades. But if you're one of the few who have heard the rumor that she is an opera singer, that's simply not true! Although she wishes it were, she squawks more than she sings...
Ms. Von Iderstine graduated from Loyola University with a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements for ESL and Bilingual/Bicultural education. She also has an endorsement for Middle School Spanish, having studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain for one semester. Ms. Von Iderstine completed her student teaching at Sabin Dual Language Magnet School in Chicago, teaching in a dual-language 2nd grade classroom. In her free time, she likes to read, dance, bake sweet treats, and travel!
